MT KEMBLE LAKE ASSOCIATION, INC.
ANNUAL MEETING � MARCH 9, 2007
The Annual Meeting of the
Mt. Kemble Lake Association, Inc. was held on March 9, 2007 at the
Clubhouse.� The meeting was called to
order at 8:00 pm by President Austin Godfrey.
President Godfrey asked for
a moment of silence in memory of friends, relatives and neighbors who passed
away during the year.
Copies of the 2006 Annual
Meeting minutes were provided to members which were then approved with no
changes.� Copies of the Planning Committee
report were also distributed to the members.

Following is a summary of
the committee reports:
Community Affairs:�
Carol Irving welcomed and
recognized new members.� Six newsletters
were published and distributed. The Mt. Kemble Lake Reference Book was
distributed to new members.� John Murray was
thanked for publishing the phone list and Terry Dwyer was thanked for
maintaining the web site.�
Beaches and Docks:�
Bill Canada gave special
thanks to Steve Collier and his crew for re-landscaping the fishing hole after
the dredging project.� The old wooden
dock on the east side of the lake was demolished with neighborly assistance and
will be replaced this spring.� This
spring at a TGIF, a meeting with Allied Biological will go over with us and
explain a
Clubhouse Maintenance:� Mary
Van Kirk gave thanks to Committee Members Guy Bowden, Mick Merenda, John Murray
and Phil Van Kirk.� Other community
members were also thanked including Bruce Bowden.� Deck repair was completed for considerably
less expense than anticipated.� The air
conditioning system was maintained and the ballroom floor was refinished.� The exterior of the clubhouse was painted and
gaskets around the skylights were replaced and repairs made.� Plans for the coming year include maintenance
of the roof and replacement of the faucets and sinks in the bathrooms.
Housekeeping: �Mary Van Kirk read Bettina Bierly�s
report in her absence.� The report gave
thanks to the Committee Members Joan Baumgarten, Carl Bonar, Ruth Chaney, Lori
Denson, Jane Dwyer, and Barbara McGoldrick.�
Also thanked were the Neigel-Whites for donating a refrigerator and Bob
Noftall and Ian Varney for donating the couch in the entryway.� Projects for the coming fiscal year include
the bar renovation project, clean-up of the attic, and in coordination the
Clubhouse Maintenance committee replacement of the bathroom faucets and
sinks.�
Grounds:� Mark Baumgarten thanked Barbara McGoldrick
and John Murray for promoting a fund raising campaign that enabled the
Association to resurface and level the south end of the tennis court.� This coming season the Association plans to
rebuild the North end of the tennis court and install a drinking fountain on
the outside of the court by the play area.�
Thank you to the Fitzhughs, the Dwyers, Bobbie Coulter and lakeside
residents for keeping the geese under control.�
Thank you also Ken Heiden , Diane Bonar for pruning, trimming, and
weeding; Ellie Bird for caring for the flowers at the Clubhouse; the Chalfants
for litter removal; the Jones� for maintaining the garden area; and the
irrigation plan of Jim Irving.� The
dredge spoil site will be studied to determine how it may be utilized for the
benefit of the community.� This coming
year we plan to install a multi-purpose backboard along the perimeter of the
basketball court.
Roads:� Barbara Coe gave thanks to all the volunteers who
turned out for our spring and fall clean-ups and also to those who have alerted
her to problems. The broken grate on Lake Trail East is still in the process of
being replaced. Several estimates for varying degrees of road upgrades are
under consideration.� Paul Fox of the
Township will be helping us to make final decisions.� In the meantime we are building up our road
reserves to help fund this project.��
There were questions from the floor concerning the condition of our
roads.� Austin Godfrey and Barbara Coe
could not answer all questions at this time.�
These questions will be addressed and "decisions
on what needs to be done will be made at a special meeting later this year.
Treasurer�s Report:� Bob Yingling presented a
financial package which was discussed and the budget was approved.� It was noted that the community would like to
see more improvements in the roads and grounds and clubhouse instead of having
a large surplus left over from the budget.�
The loan for the lake dredging project has not closed.� The exact amount of monies needed to make the
payments has not been finalized.� At this
time we may be over reserved.
Special Committee Reports
Environmental Stewardship Committee:� Jane Kendall
gave us tips on how to keep our lake in safe and healthy condition.� Jon Rafalowski of Tree Tech is giving the
committee tips on how to control invasive weeds.� This information and other subjects will be
distributed throughout the year in the form of flyers.� Each flyer will also contain a web site for
further information.
History/Records Room:�
Thanks to Chris Allyn for
leading this project for the last decade.�
Construction of the room has been completed thanks to Bruce Bowden,
George Kuchler, Guy Bowden and Joyce Murray.�
Thanks also to the Edgars for donating a desk and drafting work table,
Ken Heiden for providing help in set up and Joyce Murray for assisting Chris in
organizing and setting up the room.
Nominating Committee:� Cassie
Merenda presented the candidates for election to the Board.� Elected to two-year terms were:� Bettina Bierly, Gail Chalfant, Don Kuhn,
Nancy Priscu and Mary Van Kirk.
