Proposal to
Association Board For a
May, 2010
Location: Ball Field
Based on
the comments from the inform meeting at the clubhouse, it is being proposed to build
a dog park in the ball field. This option includes the following features:

As
you enter the ball field, the dog park would be located on the right on the
flat surface just past the area where branches are now left for pick up.

No
trees would need to be removed.

The
area would be left in its natural state so there should be minimal maintenance.

The
construction cost is estimated to be about $1,500 dollars which we expect to be
covered predominately by contributions. It would be feasible to use much less
expensive fencing in this more remote location.

Adding
coverage on the MKL insurance policy would cost $300 per year.

A
committee of the users would police the grounds-- although it is expected that
all users would clean up after their pets, particularly since peer pressure
from other users would encourage cooperation in maintaining the park.

Each
dog would have to be accompanied by a responsible adult 17 or older.

No
dog can be left unattended in the park.

No
aggressive or unfriendly dog would be allowed to use the park.

All
dogs must be licensed.

Usage
would be limited to MKL residents or their guests, but a resident must
accompany a guest.

Detailed
rules will be posted at the entrance gate.
The
proposed rules are as follows:
