Annual Meeting, June 16, 2006
Meeting Minutes
The meeting was scheduled as part of
the June TGIF. Guests were invited to
the TGIF dinner at 6:30 pm. Members who
were unable to attend the TGIF for dinner were invited to come for the meeting
and dessert at no charge.
Joyce Murray, Country Club President,
called the meeting to order at 8:00PM.
Carl Bonar, Country Club Secretary, had
pre-recorded member proxies. Carl called
roll of otherwise unrecorded members. A
quorum was achieved via 30 proxies and 36 present members.
Meeting minutes from June 10, 2005 had
been distributed with this meeting’s invitation, and were distributed again to
members present. The minutes were
approved as distributed.
A moment of silence was observed for
Community Members who has passed since our last meeting: Lou Bowden, Robin
Forbes, Sis Boettger, and Roz Reusser. New community members,
Mick Merenda,
Bar Chair, was not present, but Ruth Chaney Murray read his report. He reported that receipts were down for the
year due to fewer parties and lower attendance.
A premium Scotch (Macallan) was added this
year at a terrific price ($5/glass).
Ruth Chaney, Social Chair thanked the
community for participation as Chairs, Committee members, and/or guests of 2005/2006
parties. Ruth encouraged Members to participate
in the 2006/2007 social calendar as event Chairpersons, committee members, or
quests. She noted that parties have been
smaller lately; she suggested that event Chairpersons use 50 as a planning
number for party attendance.
Joyce Murray presented the Treasurer’s
report for David Dietz, including the dollar contribution from each of the
Country Club parties and TGIFs. For the 2005/2006 planning year the Country
Club would turn over $1,500 to MKL Association.
She invited suggestions as to how the money might
spent.
Based on correspondence from Bettina Bierly,
Joyce Murray reported on the Association Board progress on some of the past
Country Club Board’s recommendations:

New kitchen flooring has been installed.
·
New carpet for all existing carpeted
areas has been installed.
·
Barware has been inventoried and
replaced.
·
Tablecloths have been inventoried and
replaced.
·
The deck has been power washed and
stained.
·
The turret walls and steps have been
scraped and repainted.
·
A two ton dumpster of trash was removed
from the basement.
Joyce and Bettina thanked all involved
for their participation. The Country
Club Board and the Association Clubhouse Committee will continue to work
together to review and implement bar renovations.
Joyce thanked Roe Bowden for leading
the candidate selection committee including herself, Cacky
Bell, Bob Grey, Karen Morrison, and Joan Baumgarten.
The selection committee was tasked with finding candidates for three positions;
Joyce Murray, Carl Bonar and Mick Merenda whose terms
are both expiring. Roe introduced the
following slate of candidates:

Bob Edgar
Mick Merenda
Joyce Murray
Twinkle Tong
Ballots were
distributed and voted.
While ballots (in
person and proxies) were being counted, Joyce Murray read her President’s
report. Joyce Murray noted the diversity
of parties and meeting held at the club house this year, thanked all members
for their participation in the various social and work activities, with special
thanks to the Board members for their ongoing support. She also thanked the Association Board
support via maintenance and upgrades to the clubhouse infrastructure.
Joyce also noted that
the Board had created and distributed a reference binder that includes a
variety of materials relative to the community; By-Laws from all Boards, organization
chart describing roles of each Board, member telephone listings, community map,
etc. She invited suggestions for
additional materials.
Carl Bonar, Mick Merenda,
and Joyce Murray were elected to the Board for another term Joyce thanked all candidates for
running.
Without further business, the meeting
was called to adjourn at 8:35 pm.
