Beach Cleanup Don Kuhn
As Summer Departs . . . It’s passed quickly and it seems like just yesterday that we were getting the beach ready for the season. In that connection we can’t forget to thank the forty-plus people who showed up in late May to rake sand and leaves, lower swimming ladders, and take away debris. (Terry Dwyer has pictures posted on the website.) A special thanks to Bob Edgar for coming with his cart and to some brave teens who cleaned Canadian geese poop from the diving platform. Yuck!
The East Beach has had some refurbishing. With the help of Bill Canada, a new floating platform was put in place. We have Bruce Scolnick to thank for donating construction of a new stone retaining wall behind the bench. In addition, Bruce power-washed and sealed the wooden dock.
The lake was in great shape this year. An early treatment with alum brought startling water clarity, briefly making the water look like the Caribbean. The longer-term benefit was that there was no reason to treat the water during the season for algae growth.

water pipe that was affecting service to Primrose Trail. The shutdown was scheduled to start at 8:30 am and end in the afternoon, once the pipe had been replaced. Contractors were on the job early in the morning with Bill Manser overseeing for Lakeshore.
