Doggie Park Now Operational

All our doggie friends are enjoying the new dog park, which opened in August at our ball park behind the garden. The construction of the park was fully funded by donations with no cost to the Association.

The pups are generally playing in the park at about 7:30 am during the week and at 8:00 am on weekends.

Beach Season Winding Down

it’s been a good summer at the lake.  While we needed two herbicide treatments to stop invading grass in the water, the algae situation was much better, just requiring one treatment.

Thanks to all for observing the Beach/Boats separator.  The place was much tidier.  For those boat owners who never use the boats they store at the beach, this might be a good time to think about 1) getting rid of your boat, 2) giving it to someone else who’d love to have it, or 3) donating it to the fire company.

Additional news is that the East Beach dock (yes, there is one – down the stairway next to the Scolnicks!) has been replaced.  That job was a cooperative effort involving Bill Canada, Craig Curtis, and Jane and Terry Dwyer.  Many thanks to them.  The old water-logged dock will be cut up and put out for the annual cleanup.

The next major beach event will probably be watching the Mermaids take their annual January 1 dip!                                                            — Don Kuhn, Beaches & Docks

(Meanwhile, the Mermaids—shown above—are still swimming, and hope you are, too!)

If you would like to arrange another play- time, just call Nancy Barrett, Cassy Merenda, Diane Bonar, or Gail Chalfant to see if they can join you at a different time.
