Subject: Free Market

Hi Everyone,

As you know I work in an elementary school in Newark. Much like the population of the city as a whole, our school is composed of low income families of which 95% qualify for free and/or reduced lunch and more than 50% of our families are living at or below the poverty line. On October 1st our school will be holding a free market, open to all residents of the Newark community, not just the 700+ families that attend our school, where they can get for free, items donated by the school, the city and our stakeholders.

As it is post Hurricane Irene as well as Harding clean up, I know we are all cleaning out basements, closets and garages. If you have any of the following items in your home that you are looking to give away (in good condition) and you are willing to donate them to the school please let me know. I will be happy to pick them up from you or you can feel free to drop them at my house on Lake Trail East.

The items are:

Clothing and shoes--preferably children's sizes

School supplies

Housewares

Books

Children's games (not video)

Thanks so much,

Kelly
