Hey Karen
Just had a black bear in our garbage right next to the house last night @1:30. Thought you might want to alert the lake.

He slowly left with a bag of garbage when we shone flashlights on him and yelled but came back in about 15 minutes for round 2. After that I left our deck lights on and he didn't return.  Using remote locks on your car may also help because that flashes the lights and might scare him/her away.

I guess he didn't like our trash because he didn't really open the bags and spread the contents like raccoons do. Anyway he is out and about and people should keep an eye out.
