Dear Lake residents,
We regretfully inform you about the passing of Philip Van Kirk late yesterday afternoon. As many of you know, Philip lived with his wife, Mary, and children Larisa and Greg for decades on Lake Trail West. Phil has been a part of this community for over 40 years, and his daughter Larisa and son-in-law Davor, with their children, have lived on Lake Trail East for over 20 years. Phil was President of the Lakeshore Company years ago, helped chair many Country Club parties with Mary, and was a regular volunteer at community clean up events. He was also a fixture at many Country Club parties with Mary for decades. In the last few years, he and Jean Molendyke lived at her home on Trail’s End. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, at The First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon. A reception will follow at Roxiticus Golf Club, 179 Bliss Road in Mendham.
