In Memoriam, Helen Duffy (1936-2021) Obituary

Helen O. Duffy, beloved wife, mother and grandmother was born on June 18th 1936 to Walter and Helen Orange. She passed away after a brief illness on December 31st 2021. Helen was raised in the Bronx New York where she attended Marymount Manhattan College and went on to be an educator. She met her husband Charlie Duffy of 59 years at The Parker House in Spring Lake. They married and raised 4 children in Maplewood before moving to New Vernon New Jersey. Helen was deeply faithful and very active in her parish, the Church of Christ the King, where she attended daily mass and served as Director of Religious Education for several years. She was a passionate gardener and a member of the New Vernon Garden club and served a term as President. Helen was a kind and loving person always looking to help those in need. She always had a smile and a warm hug at the ready. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who were lucky to call her enough to call her friend. 

Helen was predeceased by her daughter Claire Duffy and survived by her loving husband Charles, her children Jeanne McCabe (Brian McCabe), Charles Duffy III, Elizabeth Duffy (Judd Pilossof) and her cherished grandchildren Colin, Tim, Caroline and Liam McCabe. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11:00am at Christ the King Church, Blue Mill Rd., Harding Twp. The interment will be private. Hours of visitation will be on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 4-7pm at Christ the King Church.
